Pastoral

At Putteridge High School we have a very strong pastoral system.

Each Year Group has a Head of Year & Pastoral Leader. The school is also divided into four house groups for events and competitions. The pastoral leaders are key members of staff who are, in general, the first point of contact for parents and carers.

They are a dedicated team whose primary role revolves around the well-being and care of all of our students, focusing mainly on those within their respective Year Groups. They are closely involved with the school’s transition process, ensuring that all new students settle in well and in particular, those who transfer from their primary schools in September.

The pastoral leaders involve themselves in many aspects of school life, including supporting students with their personal development, effectively mentoring those in need and to actively support and encourage all of our students to realise their potential whilst at Putteridge High.

Pastoral Intent 3 big ideas

  • Equality
  • Diversity
  • Inclusion

Equity, diversity and inclusion are a top priority so students with protected characteristics are represented, given a voice and are valued.

Enriching curriculums

All students access enriching extracurricular activities inclusive of character education that develops successful citizens of modern Britain and enhance learning.

Citizens and community

Students are active citizens of Putteridge High school and the local Luton community. This is reflected in lessons, during free time and outside of school hours.
